We are looking for a Lead Registered Nurse in our Mallard Creek Ambulatory Surgery Center. 

The ASC Lead RN serves as a liaison among ASC disciplines to facilitate communication, coordination and collaboration regarding the planning and provision of high-quality, cost-effective care. 

Essential Functions:

  • Partners with the Orthopedic Coordinator to determine daily Preop and PACU staff assignments.  
  • Facilitates efficient operating room turnover by assisting rooms and helping trouble-shoot instrument or supply issues. 
  • Communicates schedule changes or patient issues throughout the day with all interested parties which could include Preop, PACU, Anesthesia SPD, or members of the ASC Admin team.   
  • Drafts employee time schedules for Pre/Post/PACU staff and manage employee downtime activities-cleaning schedules; outdate checks; inventory restock, etc. 
  • Collaborates with Quality Nurse to facilitate employee compliance with research studies and protocols.  
  • Participate in new hire/employee interviews.
  • Assists Administrator/DON with employee performance evaluations and provides immediate employee performance feedback as necessary. 
  • Assists in staffing as needed, and responsible for the same job responsibilities as the ASC RN when in that role: performing nursing care for patients in the immediate pre-operative/post anesthesia period, assessing and documenting patient’s status upon arrival in the Pre-Op and PACU. 
  • After hours clinical on-call responsibilities related to ASC personnel.  Must be flexible with hours.

  • Recognizes patients’ rights and responsibilities and supports them in performance of job duties. 
  • Participates in facility committees, meetings, in-services, and activities. 
  • Supports the facility’s ideology, mission, goals, and objectives. 



Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. 
  • 2 years of OR experience preferred
  • 2 years of Leadership experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) 
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
